Q: Do I have to sing an original song?
A: Original songs are a requirement. We do not take entries from songs already
published by other artists.
Q: How do I protect my original music?
A: While the sponsors of this contest will in no way take claim to your original work, it is always advisable to have original material copyrighted before sending copies to anyone for review.
Q: Are my songs protected?
A: Yes. You retain ALL rights to your songs. You do not give up any publishing rights in entering the LINK4U PRODUCTIONS competition.
Q: What is the entry fee?
A: The entry fee is $50.00.
Q: Why is there an entry fee?
A: The entry fee is used to offset the administrative costs of putting on this
Q: Do I have to sing a certain kind of song?
A: No, but we only take original songs. We are open for
any type of song (rock, country, Christian, R&B, Rap, Jazz, etc..)
Q: Is there a time limit for the song?
A: For Level 1 there is no time limit (however if you send in a 13 minute song, do not expect the song to be listened to in its entirety). During
Level 2 there will be time restrictions on the song which the contestants will be made aware of as they proceed.
Q: Can we enter using a mini-disc or video entry of our own?
Q: Does the demo have to be recorded in a professional studio?
A: No, it does not have to be professionally recorded. It is advisable to record in a room with good acoustics, free of distractions, or background noises. Remember the tape or CD will be what the judges use. Although they are not expecting professional recordings, but they do need to be able to hear clearly. If you burn your own CD on a personal computer, please try playing it on various CD players to make sure it works.
Q: Do I get my demo back?
A: No. None of the demos will be returned, so please do not send your only copy of an original song.
Q: Will I be notified if I do not proceed to level 2?
A: Yes, all entrants will be notified by mail.
Q: Do contestants who do not proceed to level 2 receive a full or partial refund?
A: No, decisions of the judges are final and entry fees will not be refunded.
Q: Can the entry form be photocopied?
A: Yes. You can copy the entry form to submit more than 1 song. EACH SONG must have its own
entry and original signature.
Q: Who can enter the contest?
A: The competition is open to all amateur and professional songwriters. Writers
that derive the majority of their income from songwriting or have ever had a
staff writing deal with a publishing company may not enter. No songs under a
professional contract may be entered.
Q: Does it matter what country I live in?
A: The Link4U Productions Song Contest is open to songwriters in ALL countries. We have had entries from over
60 countries around the world.
Q: Should the songwriter's name appear anywhere on the CD?
A: No. The song title is the only thing that should be listed on your CD. Your
will be assigned an entry number that corresponds with your entry form.
Q: Is there a limit to the maximum number of songs which can be submitted?
A: No. You can enter as many songs as you want. Each song will need it's own
entry form and entry fee. 1st song is $50.00 entry fee, each additional song is

A: Yes. You can send all of your entries in one package.
Q: Can I pay for multiple entries with one check/money order?
A: Yes. You can submit one check or money order for all of your entries.
